My Approach

My approach is mainly informed through person-centered therapy, meaning that I believe that you are always in charge of your care and know when something is not working. I don't claim to have all the answers or be the expert of your life or your relationship, but my goal is to create a safe space where you feel supported and heard. Whether it is processing vulnerable emotions or traumatic memories, or celebrating your proudest or most exciting moments, I am here to support you every step of the way.

My influences include attachment theory, acceptance and commitment therapy, feminist therapy, systemic therapy, and experiential approaches such as emotion focused therapies, mindfulness based practices, and expressive arts therapy. I will occasionally bring in elements from cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectic behaviour therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and the Gottman method with your permission. Your treatment will always be tailored towards your needs.

Research has shown that regardless of the methods used, the most accurate predictor of success in the therapeutic process lies in the therapeutic rapport and alliance. This means the most healing happens when you can feel safe, comfortable, and aligned with your therapist. Book a consult call with me to see before you commit!

My Experience

I have been in practice for close to a decade now, having worked in both public and private sectors. I have been fortunate enough to provide psychotherapy to range of clients at various settings including a college, a Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) clinic, an Employee Assistance Plan (EAP) organization, and in community mental health through Family Services Ontario (FSO).

In these settings, I have worked with:

  • families going through major life transitions, healing from abuse and resentment, uncovering generational trauma, unpacking unhelpful patterns

  • couples coping with communication issues, intimate partner violence, infidelity, and intercultural conflicts

  • young adults learning about their neurodivergence, racial/sexual identity, working through school stress, exploring career paths

  • professionals dealing with imposter syndrome, burnout, workplace stress and harassment/racism

  • people of all walks of life processing personal and systemic trauma, mood/sleep disorders, chronic illness/pain, self-harm/suicidal thoughts, ambiguous and unambiguous grief

My practice is inclusive and anti-oppressive. Queer, trans, sex-work, racialized, disabled, refugee, kink, non-monogamous, neurodivergent and all intersectional communities are welcomed here! I dedicate a large part of my time in participating in efforts for racial and social justice with part of my profits every month going towards mutual aid and community organizing efforts.
